Life term for murder

PA Auckland An Auckland youth has been sentenced to life imprisonment for murder. A jury in the High Court at Auckland found Neville Andrew Edgerton, aged 18, a springmaker, of Blockhouse Bay, guilty of the murder of Glen Dalrymple Martin in Auckland on January 15. Mr Justice Casey sentenced Edgerton to life imprisonment at the end of a four-day trial. The jury had heard that Mr Martin died from multiple stab wounds inflicted by Edgerton after they left an Auckland hotel where they spent the day drinking together. The stabbing occurred after Mr Martin rejected two homosexual advances made to him by Edgerton.
