The position, based in Whakatane, is a challenging one and requires an Engineer with both management and technical skills. The Commission is currently engaged in constructing the $35 million Kaituna Catchment Control Scheme as well as other flood control and drainage works throughout the Bay of Plenty region. The Bay of Plenty offers an excellent climate which enhances the recreational and sporting opportunities of the region. The Assistant Chief Engineer will lead the engineering works section of the Commission and will be responsible to the Chief Engineer for the investigation, planning, design and construction of engineering works undertaken by the Commission. Applicants must be Registered Engineers holding a current Annual Practising Certificate pursuant to the Engineers Registration Act 1924. The salary range offered for the position is up to $35,686.
