Lawyers seek to prevent tour
PA Auckland A group of lawyers, opposed to the All Black tour of South Africa decided last evening to explore several legal moves to prevent it. The 35 lawyers suggested laws to impose a levy on the Rugby Union to pay for extra policing costs in New Zealand, to prohibit the union from accepting money from South Africa, and to prevent the public paying higher insurance fees because of increased risks to rugby property. The lawyers said they would . consider if any grounds existed for legal proceedings aimed at stopped the tour. If they did, the lawyers agreed that proceedings be taken.
