Fencing wire stolen
About 11/?,I 1 /?, tonnes of fenc- ; ing wire have been stolen I from Maori Lakes Road, in I the Ashburton River Gorge, i the Methven police reported I yesterday. Constable Roger Harris said that a farmer had left the coils of 10-gauge hightensile wire on the side of the road. “It was left there for i contract fencing that was I being done,” he said. The missing wire was I valued at $2200 and 'would ’ have done about 3Vakn’ of j fencing, Constable Harris ! said. i
