Franklin D. Roosevelt, jun., the son of the late President of the United States, Mr Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mr Roosevelt, jun., who was in London for a seminar on human rights, joined in celebrations to mark the centenary of the birth of his mother, who died in 1962. Eleanor Roosevelt was named the “First Lady of the World,” by a former United States President, Mr Harry Truman. She served as a member of the U.S. delegation of the United Nations General Assembly, and helped to draft the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Mrs Roosevelt was also a champion of civil rights causes in America.
