North location for activities?
The Summer Times programme has the support of the North of the Square Business Association.
In response to suggestions from Christchurch City councillors that the programme could be broadened to include events previously covered by Christchurch arts festivals, the association suggested that arts festival sharing could be on a year about basis, which would ensure that neither activity would lose touch with the public.
The association said the programme itself must be continued, because of public demand, and that it would like to see Summer Times
activities include the North of the Square location. Another suggestion by the association was that the Canterbury Promotion Council consolidate its facilities into the North Square, which it felt would result in a higher consumer use.
