Riverside Mint finished strongly from a trailing position to win the Lord Shannon Cup, the feature event at the Christchurch Greyhound Racing Club’s on-course totalisator meeting at Queen Elizabeth II Park on Friday evening. Unfortunately for the club three late scratchings took a lot of glamour out of the race, leaving only five starters. However, it still proved to be a good contest, with Riverside Mint’s finishing ability too much for the favourite, Cookie Wadderin, with the early leader. Licorice Mint, battling on strongly for a close third. The track specialist, Bark Man Bark, proved once again that he is almost invincible
