Hokitika murder charge

Greymouth reporter

A psychiatric hospital assistant faced a charge of murdering his wife when he appeared before Judge McAloon in the District Court at Greymouth yesterday. Graeme Allan Climo (Mr S. J. Hembrow), aged 32, entered no plea to a charge of murdering Lynette Barbara Climo at Southside, Hokitika, on Tuesday night. Climo was remanded in custody to appear again on April 3 to allow the completion of a medical report under Section 47 of the Criminal Justice Act. Mr Hembrow sought interim suppression of the defendant’s name, saying that there were two children of the family, aged six and nine years, but the Judge declined, saying that the nature of the case was such that the woman’s name would become known.
