13 per cent pay rise
PA Wellington Workers employed by electrical supply authorities throughout New Zealand will receive a 13.08 per cent wage increase for 10 months. The secretary of the Electrical Workers’ Union, Mr Tony Neary, said yesterday that allowances in the Electrical Supply Authorities Award had also been settled at 7.02 per cent increases. Wage rates in all categories were increased 13.08 per cent and service pay 6.5 per cent, Mr Neary said.
He said it was necessary to increase the wages of electronic employees to ensure wage rates equal with those of electricians in the State sector.
