Ski-field expansion

PA Dunedin Planning approval for a $1 million base building at Cardrona ski-field has been granted at a meeting of the Lake County Council in Queenstown.

The ski-field’s managing director, Mr John Lee, also unveiled plans for a third chairlift at Cardrona to be built next summer.

Like the $1 million lift now under construction, it will be a four-seater and will bring the uphill lift capacity of the ski-field to almost 6000 an hour. Mr Lee said the new base building should be ready for the coming season. It will include a restaurant seating 160.
