Living in Finland
Sir,—lkenazene Gerard has inspired me to write about my experiences from spending 20 years on the Finland-Russian border. Finland lost in World War II and was forced to sign a treaty with the Russians whereby the number of soldiers in Finland is limited so that it cannot defend itself against Soviet invasion. The U.S.S.R. make sure that Finland does not get help from Western countries as the treaty also restricts any. other soldiers whatsoever. Like Czecho-
Slovakia and Poland, the U.S.S.R. will most likely force their way in and this is why I fled to New Zealand and became a citizen here. M. Creel has been indoctrinated by propaganda that my relatives in Finland and Europe know so well. The Russians are very clever and extensively infiltrated the news media and Government by promoting socialism before they introduce Soviet communism. — Yours, etc., MAMA KURKELA. March 7, 1985.
