Doctors help campaign

PA Wellington A doctor from the Soviet Union and one from the United States visiting New Zealand this month as part of a campaign by physicians to prevent nuclear war will meet the Disarmament and Arms Control Committee of Parliament. Dr Nicolai Trapeznikov,

of the Soviet Union, and Dr Henry Abraham, of the .United States, have been invited to New Zealand and Australia by medical organisations concerned about the threat of nuclear war. The New Zealand branch of the International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War said the visit

was to demonstrate a common concern about the threat to human health posed by nuclear conflict. Similar “joint missions” by doctors from both East and West would take place this year in the United States, the Soviet Union, and Eastern and Western Europe.
