Power boat regatta

The Wes Vercoe Memorial and the 3ZB Super Boat Trophy are two important events to be held at the Estuary next Sunday afternoon to mark the ninety-fifth anniversary of the New Brighton Power Boat Club.

Both events are open to all classes of boats, with the

Super Boat Trophy going to the boat with the fastest lap time. Most of Canterbury’s leading drivers will be taking part, and the regatta is likely to feature the first appearance for the season of Jack Ryan’s new-look Mainland Miss, which is the holder of the New Zealand speed record.
