Rainbow approval

PA Auckland Jedi Corporation, Ltd, yesterday received approval from the Commerce Commission to raise its holding in Rainbow Corporation, Ltd, to 50 per cent. The proposed move was made public in late February when Jedi bought a special parcel of 523,000 Rainbow shares at 130 c each. Jedi told the Stock Exchange it had already bought an additional 13.5 per cent of Rainbow’s capital, bringing its holding to 33.5 per cent. Rainbow Corporation has a paid capital of $2,500,000 in 12,500,000 shares of 20c each.

The managing director of Jedi, Mr John Tapper, said the company had no im : mediate intention of accumulating more Rainbow shares. It would make acquisitions “when suitable opportunities arise.”
