Support for N-stand
PA Wellington Wide international Church support had been shown for New Zealand’s anti-nuclear policy and the stand its Government has taken, said the National Council of Churches. Support had come from the international affairs office of the World Council of Churches; the National Council of Churches in Britain, the Pacific and the United States and the Lon-don-based Catholic Institute for International Relations, said the N.C.C. in a statement. Councils of churches in Britain and the United States had written to their respective Governments expressing dismay at the pressure being brought on New Zealand by its allies, it said.
