Ra Ora Stud buys sharp sprinter

Ra Ora Stud has purchased the successful sprinter Famous Star, the winner of five races and SUSISO,OOO. Famous Star’s wins included the Ladbrokes Ayr

Gold Cup in England, and the Meteor Handicap at Hollywood Park, California. In winning the Meteor Handicap on November 18, he equalled a 13-year record by running five furlongs on the turf in 56 seconds. Famous Star was sired by Sharpen Up, which was runner-up to Northern Dancer on the English sires’ list last year. Hecla, the dam of Famous Star, was a group winning two-year-old and halfsister to two high class two-year-old fillies, Mange Tout and Rose Dubarry.
