Package for accountants

Burroughs, Ltd, is a joint major sponsor of the seventy-fifth convention of the New Zealand Society of Accountants which will be-

gin in Christchurch tomorrow night. The American computer company’s principal product for the chartered accountants is its Chartered Accountants (CAP) software.

CAP is now available on Burrough’s latest family of small computers, the 820 microcomputer family. “Together, CAP and the 820 make a highly flexible combination that can be cost-justified in the one-man practice or linked in multiple workstations for the larger practice,” says the company.

A typical configuration, such as being used in one three-man Christchurch practice, consists of a 822 master workstation with 40 megabytes of hard-disc storage and a 821 input work station linked to the 822. In the Christchurch practice, the CAP package has been supplemented with word-processing and spreadsheet modelling software to provide additional service to the partners. For these purposes the 821 has been installed on a mobile table so that it can be wheeled into the partners’ offices.
