Laminate to protect

A bench-mounted machine which applies plastic laminate to protect papers such as maps, working drawings and posters is manufactured by an Australian firm. Thermal Laminating. Company. The machine comes in

four models which are easy to operate, and controls adjust film tension, speed, temperature and roller pressure. Lamination provides weather, abrasion, stain and temper protection. It can also be used to protect

archival material. Educational institutions, general offices, engineers, architects, builders and libraries are among the many users of the machine. The four models handle widths of 460 mm, 730 mm. 965 mm. 1200 mm and feature an attractive epoxy-baked casing for durability and easy cleaning. A standard roll of 26mm. 32mm. 58mm. or 76mm core size, and 200 m length, is slid on to the mandrel and locked into place. The paper is fed between rubber rollers where it is cased and sealed in plastic. The variable, speed DC motors allow laminating of up to 4.8 m a minute, and can reverse for simple correction of mistakes. A mirror behind the rollers gives a view of the laminated article, and an electronic metre counter records each rotation of the rollers for costing of materials. The machines are specifically designed for long life and low maintenance. and a small tool kit is supplied for on-the-spot repairs. Spare parts are readily available and the machine's heater bars lift up for easy cleanins.
