Wool eases at Wellington
PA Wellington Prices fell slightly at the Wellington wool sale yesterday. The main buyers were New Zealand mills, scourers, and carpet mills, with support from China and Eastern Europe. On offer were 9355 Auckland bales, 7116 bales from Wanganui, and 3742 bales from Wellington and comprised some 14,000 bales of new season’s stock and 6500 bales of Wool Board stock. The market compared with Christchurch on September 28 was fine cross--bred hogget fleeceapwn 2% "’per cent, medium crossbred
hogget fleece in buyers’ favour, and strong crossbred fleece, very firm, secondshear, good length in sellers’ favour, short, in buyers’ favour; bulky skirtings to 5 per cent cheaper; second-shear oddments, good length, in buyers’ favour; short, very firm; crutchings, good length, per cent cheaper; short, 5 to IVz per cent cheaper. The adjusted weighted average sale price was 367.77 c a kilogram. It will apply from midnight on October 3 to midnight on October 10. The market indicator was 368 c greasy and 494 c clean.
