$1000 at stake City route
One thousand dollars must be won on tomorrow’s Ranfurly Shield challenge in “The Press” pick-the-score competition. The competition has run on all seven previous challenges this winter and noone has managed to take the money by predicting the exact full-time and halftime scores. There have been some very near
misses, however. The prize has now jackpotted to $lOOO and it must be won on tomorrow’s final challenge by Bay of Plenty. The entry form can be found on page 18 of this morning’s paper, and all entries must reach the main office of “The Press” in Cathedral Square by 4 p.m. today.
The organisers are hoping for a big crowd for the final Ranfurly Shield procession of the season tomorrow morning.
The procession will return to its inner city route, starting near the Bridge of Remembrance at 10 a.m. and moving via Lichfield Street, Colombo Street and Cathedral Square to Victoria Square.
