Waitaki NZ busy
Waitaki NZ Refrigerating was again actively traded on a firmer, moderately active New Zealand Stock Exchange yesterday. The Christchurch-based meat company’s shares were traded between a late sale of 142 c and 147 c, with 180,000 selling at the closing price of 146 c. Progressive Enterprises, the Auckland-based supermarket chain owners was widely traded between 280 c and 295 c on a quieter turnover, closing for a gain of 15c at the highest price. The Barclays industrial index finned 0.93 points to 1229.48. NZ Forest Products stood out on a gain of sc, and TNL Group rose 5c after its profit report and bonus plans. Issues to ease included Brierley Investments, Fletcher Challenge, and NZI Corporation. On the mining. sector, 654,000 Horizon options sold at a steady sc.
