Legal battle
The Indian Prime Minister’s rebel daughter-in-law, Maneka Gandhi, lost a legal battle against her mother-in-law when the Delhi High Court dismissed her appeal to bar Mrs Gandhi from receiving one third of the property left by the late Sanjay Gandhi. Sanjay, the youngest son of the 66-year-old Prime Minister and Maneka’s late husband, was killed in a stunt air crash in June, 1980. — New Delhi.
