Age group golf
Darryn Murray, of Avondale, has won the Eagles Golf Society of Canterbury boys’ under 18 tournament at the Coringa course. He had a 17hole score of 119, one shot ahead of G. Donovan, of Coringa. Earana Kirtin (Burnham) won the girls’ event from D. Wallace (Kaiapoi).
The winners, as guests of the Canterbury Eagles, will play in the under-18 boys’ and girls’ championships on August 28 and 29. All the boys winners from golf association districts throughout New Zealand will then go on to Feilding for the two-day national championship. ___________
