Space statement
The United States and the Soviet Union will draw up a joint statement on their readiness to negotiate a ban on space weapons, says the White House. A spokesman, Larry Speakes, said that the statement would be the subject of private exchanges. He gave no details, saying progress on important issues was achieved through diplomacy, not press releases. — Washington.
