A sketch of a heart transplant operation performed at the Grosshadem Clinic in Munich, drawn by 73-year-old Professor Leopold Metzenbauer, of Vienna. Professor Metzenbauer watched two such heart operations and was able to sketch each with extraordinary accuracy. With the help of two heart surgeons, Professor Metzenbauer is now working on an atlas of heart surgery. For this purpose the operating room at the clinic has been partly made into a studio so that he can sketch as the surgeons operate.
