NZPA special correspondent Bath The New Zealand women’s cricket team completed a nine-wicket win over the West of England by mid-afternoon at Bath yesterday. The Central Districts bowler, Elizabeth Signal, took a hat-trick and Canterbury opener, Ann McKenna, rattled off an unbeaten 60, from 68 balls, to claim the individual highlights.

Signal finished with 4/19. McKenna and Rosemary Signal put on 44 for New Zealand’s first wicket before Karen Plummer joined McKenna to finish the job with a session and an hour to spare. Scores: West of England 167/3 dec. and 77 (E. Signal 4/19, J. Dunning 4/20, Shona Gilchrist 2/12) lost to New Zealand 152/4 dec. and 95/1 (Ann McKenna 60 not out).
