Good start to tour
PA Invercargill Wellington kicked off its two-match South Island tour with a comfortable 16-3 win over Southland at Rugby Park, Invercargill, yesterday. Wellington notched its first win in Invercargill since 1970 by dominating the forward exchanges, par-
ticularly the line-outs, where the locks, Gerard Wilkinson and Brendon Gard’ner, were in fine form. Scorers:— Wellington 16 (Peter Barlow 2, Tim Perez, tries; John Gallagher 2 conversions), Southland 3 (Brent McKenzie penalty goal).
