Eastgas exceeds forecast
Sales of East Coast Gas Supply, Ltd, for the first three months ended June 30 exceeded forecasts by 10.9 per cent, the chairman (Mr Don McLeod) told the annual meeting. Earnings during the same period had been also correspondingly better than expected. “This gives us confidence that the remaining winter months will also turn out better than previously predicted,” he said. Advertising posts Mr Brian Hastings, advertising manager of “The Press,” has been elected president of the South Island branch of the Advertising Institute. Other officers are vice-presi-dent, Mr W. McKean; Secre-tary-treasurer, Mr W. Worrill; committee, Messrs. D. O’Malley, W. Ormandy, D. Mac Lean, R. Norton, J. Barry, P. Lynch, I. Miles, L. Whiteside. Crusader drilling Crusader Minerals NZ, Ltd says it has drilled 13 holes at the Monowai mine and these confirm the mine’s economic attractiveness. An analysis of results with an ore reserve statement will be presented in the forthcoming annual report, the directors say. An addendum to the Monowai-Maratoto environmental impact report is being prepared tor the Commission for the Environment and Crusader expects that an audit will be done later. F and P rates F and P Finance, Ltd is to alter interest rates offered on first ranking debenture stock from July 24. The top rate offered will be 13.5 per cent per annum for investment terms of 18, 24 and 36 months. This rate is an increase of 3 per cent on the previous rate.
