Rebel priest to visit N.Z.
PA Wellington The rebel West German Catholic, the Rev. Franz Schmidberger, will visit New Zealand next month. The archbishop, now aged 78, was stripped of his priestly duties in 1976 for opposing changes introduced in the 1960 s at the Second
Vatican Council. He retired last year as head of the traditionalist Society of St Pius X. Father Schmidberger, now Superior-General of the I society, will speak at a ► conference on August 10 at j • Porirua, organised by a I group called the Concerned I Catholics of New Zealand.
