Many at funeral
Holy Trinity Church, Lyttelton, was filled to capacity yesterday for the funeral service of Mr Philip Beecroft, a member of the Lyttelton senior rugby team, who died suddenly on Saturday. His death was apparently unrelated to his playing in the match. Several Lyttelton businesses closed in the morning to allow staff to attend the service.
