Tenders under estimate
Vehicle and equipment purchases about $31,000 under this year’s estimates in total were recommended yesterday by the Christchurch City Council’s parks and recreation committee. A special meeting was called to approve tenders that had already been received, just in case the recent devaluation of the New Zealand dollar might have affected prices soon. Works and traffic vehicle and equipment tenders will be considered at the normal time next month. Total purchases of replacement and new equipment would cost $362,420 for the parks an d recreation department.
