Stunning halt to lesson

PA Auckland A class at Northcote Intermediate School sat stunned yesterday as a Siliceman chased a man rough their classroom. The class of 30 Form I pupils and their teacher then watched in amazement

as the chase continued across the school grounds. Constable Peter Thomson, of the Takapuna police, returned a few hours after capturing his quarry to tell the pupils about the incident. The constable said that he had been on the lookout for

a suspect after a recent car theft when he spotted his quarry entering the school grounds about 9.30 a.m. A man, aged 29, will appear in the District Court at North Shore today on charges which include theft, unlawfully taking a car, and obscene exposure.
