Mike Farrell in N.Z. for month

PA Auckland The “M*A*S*H” star, Mike Farrell, flew into Auckland yesterday — with two children and the Pres-ley-era teenage darling, Shelley Fabares, on his arm. Farrell, who played the sensitive B. J. Hunnicutt in the eight-year series, will spend a month showing Miss Fabares and Mike, and Erin, around New Zealand. “This is my third visit here,” he said after a 12hour direct flight from Los Angeles, “and this time I’m really going to see the country.

“On the last trips, I saw just enough to give me a taste to want to come back. “New Zealand is so extraordinarily beautiful and I have always been received graciously here.” Farrell has been involved

in anti-war campaigns in the United States and Central America since “M*A*S*H” ended 18 months ago. Last week, he took his message to the Democrats’ convention in San Francisco where Mr Walter Mondale was selected to contest the presidency. However, for the next month, he wants to forget all that and look at mountains, glaciers and lakes. Miss Fabares recorded several songs during the late 60s and starred opposite Elvis Presley in “Girl Happy,” “Clam Bake” and “Spin Out.” She will soon appear on New Zealand television screens opposite Bonnie Franklin in the popular situation comedy, “One Day At A Time.”
