Assault at party at hall
A man who was assaulted at a party at the Eyrewell Hall early on Sunday morning was discharged from Princess Margaret Hospital yesterday afternoon. Neil O’Loughlin, aged 26, of Oxford, suffered a laceration to the back of the skull. Christchurch detectives are continuing inquiries into the fracas, which broke out about 1.50 a.m. after several men tried to gain entry to the party. An iron bar and a length of wood were wielded in the brawl. A man appeared in the District Court yesterday charged in connection with the incident.
