Eight teams seek places
Eight teams are still very much in contention for the five positions in the Sydney' rugby league championship play-offs after last Sunday’s matches. Canberra improved its prospects of qualifying for the first time by upseting Parramatta, 14-10. Canterbury-Bankstown retained its lead with a 16-10 win over Balmain, and St Geoife held second place, by
beating Western Suburbs, 26-7.
