Hoon Hay A wrapped up the premier inter-club billiards title for 1984 when it scored a 3-0 win against Homby in the final round.
Hoon Hay A finished with 31 points, two points to the good of Richmond A and three ahead of Richmond B. Woolston and Kaiapoi were equal fourth with 22 and then followed Homby 14, Hoon Hay B and New Brighton R.S.A., both 11. The best break of competition was a 137 by Brian Kirkness (Richmond A). Final round results were;— Richmond A 2 (Kirkness 229, DeGroot 225, Yesberg 169), Kaiapoi 1 (Wereta 147, Lilly 168, Hopkinson 197). Breaks: Kirkness 71, 51.
