Senior post in housing

PA Wellington The Housing Corporation’s new Assistant Direc-tor-General is Mr B. T. Conroy. Mr Conroy was appointed as an engineering draughtsman in the Mangakino office of the Ministry of Works and Development in July 1958 after immigrating from the United Kingdom. He served as a draughtsman in various offices of the Ministry until November, 1974, when he was seconded to the post of inspector in the State Services Commission. Seven months later he was promoted to be chief inspector in the Housing Corporation. Subsequently Mr Conroy was appointed divisional director, housing operations. From November, 1977, Mr Conroy was executive director of the National Housing Commission, implementing research programmes on housing matters and organising building industry seminars. He was appointed to his present post as Director of Housing in February, 1981.
