Schools’ festival
Fourteen teams will participate in the Coca-Cola college rugby festival at Lincoln College on Sunday. The aim of the tournament, however, is not to produce an over-all winner. Rather, the intention is to give the boys two games each, some coaching hints, and a chance of selection for representative secondary school teams. The Coca-Cola Trophy will be presented to the side which makes the best impression in team dress, 15-
player rugby and discipline. Rugby balls will be presented to the side scoring the best try and the one which shows the most initiative, and a goal-kicking contest for the 3ZB Cup will be held. Teams will come from the Canterbury rural areas, and matches will be graded to avoid traditional clashes and to keep contests as even as possible. At the encj of the afternoon the boys will be addressed by Wayne Smith, the All Black first five-eighths.
