Price of tea up
The. price of tea has jumped again as expected, and a further increase has been predicted. The increase of 10c for a 250 g packet or 100 tea bags is the third this year. Higher consumption of tea in west Asia and India boosted demand and world prices this year, leading to the series of increases. The sales manager for G.U.S. Wholesalers, Ltd, Mr W. B. Johnson, said that the price of tea on the world market had just risen again, and the effect of this is expected to be felt by New Zealand tea drinkers soon.
