New Volkswagens
Following on the Series 2 Golf launched in Europe recently, Volkswagen has a number of other new models due for release in 1984. The first will be the VW Jetta, which will make its public debut at the Geneva international motor show. The most interesting model will be the 1800 cu cm GLi version, which with fuel injection is aimed at
the section of the market now monopolised by the BMW 3 Series range. About June or July the Golf 2 GTi will be announced and it will be followed by the very powerful 16-valve engined GTi about two months later. Also on the stocks is the 16-valve version of the sporty VW Scirocco and a four-wheel-drive VW Passat station waggon.
