Police station burgled
PA Nelson The Motueka police station was burgled and vandalised on Tuesday night. Burglars who broke open the back door between 9.30 p.m. and about 1 a.m. smashed Ministry of Transport and police radios, radio telephones, telephones, a typewriter, and a small transistor radio. Filing cabinets were tipped over and the contents strewn on the floor. A staff black-and-white television set was stolen with a quantity of alcohol held by the police as exhibits. The police could not estimate the cost of damage.
