Award for Hughes
PA Auckland A shotputter and .discus thrower, Glenda Hughes, has been named New Zealand Police sportsperson of the year. Detective Constable Hughes was presented with the Police Council of Sport
trophy by Auckland’s police chief, Assistant Commissioner Bryan Gibson. Hughes won the trophy on her performances at the Brisbane Commonwealth Games and the Police Olympics in Austin, Texas, last year.
