Royal couple in South Australia
NZPA Adelaide The Prince and the Princess of Wales will begin a two-day visit to South Australia when they fly from Albury to Adelaide today. The Royal couple are due to arrive at the Edinburgh air force base, north of the city, at 1 p.m. (N.Z. time). They will visit the Parks Community Centre to view sporting demonstrations, including an indoor rock climbing display and swimming race by disabled people, before attending a civic reception at the Adelaide Town Hall. The Princess will then go to Government House while Prince Charles visits the South Australian Film Corporation headquarters in suburban Hendon. The Royal couple will attend a dance for young
people at Adelaide University this evening. They will fly to the Riverland area in the midnorth tomorrow and then to the Iron Triangle centre of Port Pirie. The Riverland leg of the tour will be centred in Renmark, the biggest town in the area, where the Royal guests will lunch and then enjoy a short cruise down the Murray River. At Port Pirie, Prince Charles and Princess Diana will meet people at the town oval and present trophies to schoolchildren, then return to Adelaide before flying to Perth. Yesterday was a rest day for the couple, spent with their son Prince William at their Australian base, Woomargama station, near Albury.
