Some rain in Gisborne

PA Wellington About 17mm to 18mm of rain fell in the Gisborne area yesterday but it would be of little help to droughtstricken East Coast farms, said the Weather Office last evening.

The rain eased last evening and only light showers were expected today. In the next couple of days, little rain is forecast. By 6 pjn. yesterday up to 14mm of rain had fallen in the area.
