Second rider killed
NZPA-Reuter Le Mans, France Michel Frutschi, of Switzerland, has died in hospital after crashing in the 500 c.c. French motor-cycle Grand Prix. Frutschi, aged 30, the winner of the French Grand Prix at Nogaro last year, crashed at high speed on a track made slippery by
intermittent rain. He was the second victim of the twisting Bugatti course at Le Mans last week. A Suzuki works rider, Iwao Ishikawa, of Japan, died on Tuesday after he and a team-mate, Loris Reggiani, crashed in practice for the race. Reggiani is still recovering in hospital.
