Renomination to post

The North Canterbury president of Federated Farmers, Mr Arthur Mulholland, has indicated his intention to renominate for the post for a further year, although he is at present recovering from serious abdominal surgery. Mr Mulholland wrote a letter to the provincial executive of the federation while convalescing after surgery on March 1. It was read to the executive at its meeting yesterday by the acting chairman, Mr Fred Bull.

Mr Mulholland, a wheatgrower, of Darfield, said he should be “fighting fit” by the end of April. He asked branches to discuss his intention to renominate. His term will expire in June. “I hope to be able to do more for the people I respect most—my fellow farmers,” he said.
