WE HAVE A VACANCY for a Lineman Trainee at our Islington Line Depot.

This position involves training in the maintenance of the division's high tension transmission lines and their associated access roads. There are good promotion opportunities in an interesting and varied outdoor occupation.

Applicants should be at least 17 years of age and preferably have had at least three years post primary education. Passes in School Certificate English and Mathematics are desirable. Consideration will also be given to persons with previous experience in line construction or maintenance work.

Wages and conditions will be in accordance with the Slate Services Commission scales.

The successful applicant may be appointed to the permanent staff on completing three months satisfactory service, after which Public Service conditions and rates of pay will apply.
