Applicants must be resiterable as Electrical Inspectors and so must have been involved in a minimum of five years wiring work subject to inspection in their recent work history to meet the Electrical Registration Board's minimum requirements. Remuneration and general conditions of appointment are governed by the Westland and Canterbury Electric Power Boards and Supply Authorities Employees’ Award. In addition the Board operates generous long term bonus and sick leave schemes. The appointee will be responsible for the efficient operation of the Board's depot at Duvauchelle. as well as carrying out inspections and fault work in the area served by that depot. Housing is available at a nominal rental and a telephone is provided. After an initial training period the appointee will go on rostered standby and fault work and quite substantial earnings may be expected with overtime and allowances.
