Drink slogan winner

PA Wellington - Hawera High School’s slogan, “Drink little, live a lot,” is the winner of the Alcoholic Liquor ‘ Advisory Council’s school slogan competition. j < ■ Rotorua Girls’ High and Sacred Heart. Hamilton, were equal second with the identical slogan. “Boozy drinking, woozy thinking.” , Third place went to Greymouth High School with the slogan, ‘Kiwis do it better sober.” The competition was organised as part 1 of Alcohol Alert Week and was aimed to encourage responsible at-

titudes .towards alcohol. Each school was allowed to submit five slogans of not more than 10 words. More than 500 were received. Amont the highly commended slogans were: “Whet your whistle, don’t drown it”; “Pickle onions, not people”; “The bubbles tickle your nose but your liver’s not laughing”; “If booze is your boss, hand in your resignation"; “Booze is a time bomb — lengthen the fuse": “Heavy drinkers are a dying breed”: "Social okay — excess no way”: and “Alcohol — the worst athletic support on the market."
