Women’s bowls tourney
As usual, Linwood will go into the final day today of a Christchurch women’s bowls tournament with the whip hand. ' It has three teams through to the last eight in the Olympia Rose Bowl fours. The skips are Denise Page, Lillian Wilson and Agnes Beazley. Mrs Page and Mrs Beazley are on opposite sides of the draw and they could well stage a repeat of the recent meeting in the final of the centre triples, a game Mrs Beazley won narrowly. The other five skips who will continue at Burnside this morning are Agnes Anderson (St Mar-
tins), Rewa Barr (Shirley), Nan Burrows (Burnside), Mary Boon (Lincoln), and Vai Shaw (Oxford). Results of the last round of post section play yesterday were:— Mrs Page 17, D. Hore (Beckenham) 4; Mrs Anderson 18, E. Murdoch (Spreydon) 8; Mrs Barr 17, J. Gifford (Barrington) 16; Mrs Burrows 16, E. Warren (Barrington) 11; Mrs Wilson 16, E. Edyvean (Christchurch-Rich-mond) 15; Mrs Boon 19, P. Sheard (Fendalton) 12; Mrs Beazley 21, D. Marshall (Christchurch-Rich-mond) 9; Mrs Shaw 17, M. Steele (Burnside) 10.
